Radisson is perched on a hill at the very end of Route de la Baie-James in the heart of the taiga. Founded in 1974 to accommodate the workers who would achieve the “project of the century,” Radisson is the only non-Native community in Québec located north of the 53rd parallel. Located in the center of the La Grande hydro-electric complex, Radisson is home to the largest underground hydro-electric power-generating station in the world, known as Robert-Bourassa or La Grande-2.
