The town of Valcanton, formed by the parishes of Beaucanton and Val-Paradis since 2001, is located 36 kilometers north of the town of La Sarre. It is part of the territory of Eeyou Istchee Baie-James and is bounded on the west by Ontario and the Abitibi Hills, on the east by the town of Villebois and by the Abitibi-Ouest at its southern limit. Its territory covers an area of 862 square kilometers. Its population is about 550 people. There are several bodies of water such as the Lacs Pajegasque, Imbeau, Oléron Domène. It is bordered by the Rivières Turgeon and Boivin and Ruisseau Leslie.
